Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire was on a hot streak this year, winning all four of his first boxing bouts in the super bantamweight division. In his first fight this year with Wilfredo Vázquez, Jr., he secured his spot alongside Manny Pacquiao as the only Asians to win world titles in four different weight divisions. And he closed 2012 with a third-round knockout win against Mexican Jorge Arce, bringing up his professional boxing record to 31-1.
