This weekend, President Barack Obama will be inaugurated, the nation will celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and the infamous Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission U.S. Supreme Court ruling will have its third anniversary on January 21. As you reflect on the start of the this new administration, the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. and the civil rights movement, and the hijacking of our democracy by corporations posing as “people”, make a promise to become more active to work for change in 2013.
